Choosing Joy and Stepping Into More Love

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the conversations we have with ourselves every day and how much influence they have on the way we experience life. The stories we tell ourselves can shape how we see everything around us.
I’ve been feeling pulled to shift my focus toward what’s good, what’s present, and what’s already working instead of what’s missing or what needs to change.
Joy, I’m realizing, isn’t always som
ething that just shows up out of nowhere. A lot of the time, it’s something we choose to pay attention to.
It’s in the everyday stuff, a morning cup of coffee, a text from a friend, a walk outside, or a laugh that catches you off guard. These moments might seem small, but they remind us that life is happening right now, not someday when everything is finally perfect.
The same goes for love.
Stepping into more love doesn’t have to mean big major life changes. Sometimes it starts with being a little kinder to ourselves. Sometimes it means giving ourselves grace instead of criticism. Sometimes it’s simply being more present with the people we care about.
What stands out to me most is how connected joy and love really are. The more love we bring into our lives...for ourselves, for others, and for the life we’ve been given...the easier it becomes to notice joy when it shows up.
I’m not writing this because I’ve figured it all out. I definitely haven’t.
There are still days when I get caught up in worries, frustrations, or the endless list of things I think I should be doing. But I’m learning that I always have a choice about where I put my attention.
I can come back to gratitude.
I can come back to love.
I can come back to the simple truth that there’s so much goodness available when I slow down enough to notice it.
So maybe living in joy isn’t about being happy every second of every day. Maybe it’s about making room for appreciation, connection, and presence. Maybe it’s about choosing love again and again, even in the little moments.
That’s the conversation I want to have more of.
And I think it leads somewhere pretty amazing.
